Scalawag's is located in the Conference Center adjacent to the main hotel and overlooks the marina. But, we still get Mickey. TOP OF THE PAGE LOGISTICS Same Time Next Year 2000: About the hotel It's the Hutchinson Island Marriott Resort (formerly the Indian River Plantation) at 555 N.E. Ocean Boulevard, on Hutchison Island, across from Stuart. The telephone is 561-225-3700. The main hotel complex, where most of the STNY crew is staying, is just off Ocean Boulevard. Some of the suites and the condos are around the bend at the beach, past the golf course and the tennis club. Check-in time is 3 p.m. Check-out time is 11 a.m. The STNY hospitality suite It will be in Condo #1307 in the Pelican building on the beach. This will be a gathering spot for the clan. The Pelican is one of two twin condo buildings on the beach. To get there, take MacArthur Boulevard from the hotel and drive east to N.E. Plantation Road, just past the golf course. Turn left on N.E. Plantation Road and follow the curve to the right, into the condo parking lot. (Walking or car pooling is recommended as parking at the condos is limited. ) The suite will be open from 5 p.m. to 10:45 p.m., Friday. It will also be accessible Saturday, at hours to be arranged at the Saturday morning breakfast. For Friday evening, the suite will be stocked with beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages. Otherwise, BYOB. Substantial munchies will be served. (Leftovers are up for grabs Saturday.) Island Princess Cruises The Island Princess, which accommodates up to 150 passengers, offers a cruise down the Intracoastal Waterway and into the St. Lucie River on Saturdays. The boat leaves the dock at the Marriott on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and returns at 3 p.m. The price is $14.95 per person. You must be at the dock and available to board at 12 p.m. The Indian Princess has an enclosed, air-conditioned main salon, and an open-air upper deck. There is a snack bar on board. Box lunches, at $7 each, must be ordered a couple days in advance. If you're interested in the cruise, call the Indian Princess at 561-225-2100 Saturday morning or sooner if you want the crew to make your lunch. Your hotel reservations A 72-hour cancellation notice is required or you get charged for the room. We can't think of a reason you'd not be joining us. But, if the fates intervene and you can't be with us, please let Pat Curtis know before canceling your reservation in case we need to transfer your room to a latecomer. If you haven't made your hotel reservations, let Pat know ASAP. The hotel is booked that weekend, but we may have a room available. STNY Registration Fee If you haven't sent in your $50 registration fee for the reunion weekend yet, please do so. The money is being used for deposits with the hotel, to pay for the hospitality suite and related food/beverages, and to cover costs of keeping the STNY group going.
