STNY- Friendships that are eternal - continuing to grow and glow with the passing of time. When we are together there is this oneness, a closeness with hardly any effort. It was, as expected, natural and easy to be together. And this time more of our clan joined with us. They also experienced the magic. I sense that this is part of our destiny with much more to come.

For many of us, it becomes all too easy to feel increasingly isolated in what can be a hostile world. STNY2, just like the original, was a weekend ofconnections, watching friendships that had slumbered awaken refreshed. Gilligan's Island would have been an awful place if Gilligan had been stranded there alone. But he had friends, which made all the difference. They make all the difference for me, too.

"The second gathering of the Indo-Tibetan Circus and Giant Panda Gypsy Blues Band (aka The Hialeah Thoroughbred Association/STNY Cyber-Breds) was warmer and fuzzier than the first. This was due primarily to the addition of more wizened yet familiar faces, and the prospect of gathering STNY at Crystal River with even more of us!"

"I am truly amazed how fast time has flown and that it seems to go even faster as I approach the age of 60. But when I go to a STNY weekend, time seems to suspend for awhile. Past memories and new perspectives are explored more fully in the company of dear friends and classmates. This feeling lasts quite awhile afterward. It is special and I am inspired in many ways and I relish every minute of it. It is this shared, suspended point in time that I look forward to each year."

Sandy and I had a great time at STNY2. It is so gratifying to realize we have such wonderful people as friends. We are already looking forward to next year. For those who were unable to attend I can only say you missed a wonderful experience and an opportunity to enjoy a weekend with some of the most fantastic people in the world.
(Sandy, are you sure that's a glass parrot on my shoulder? This is one of my favorite shirts!) |
